New Years Eve Party

Hi everyone!

Just thought I’d drop a quick line. and say hello and tell you how I did at our party tonight.

We left early to go to our party, stayed til around 8:30, and headed home. We had about an hour drive, and we are supposed to get nasty weather, so decided we’d rather get home prior to the snow and ice!

You would not believe the goodies that I DID NOT eat tonight!! I am actually proud of myself!! They had cookies, cakes, cobbler, fudge, nacho  dip,  chicken dip, cheese dips, nachos ……you name it…it was there!! As far as sweets, I had a scotchie, which is cereal with melted butterscotch chips. It was only about the size of a big cotton ball, so I didn’t think that was too bad. I also had a piece of the pineangel cake I took with fat free cool whip on it, but that is low in fat. But…..I had my share of shrimp!! They were TOOO good! Enough ramblin on about that!!

I hope that everyone is having a GREAT time tonight, and just remember……if you are drinking PLEASE don’t drive! May you all have a wonderful New Year!! Take care, Jill

Thanks to my new friends!

Just wanted to say THANK YOU for the warm welcome, and the encouraging words from all!!

I really didn’t do to bad for my 1st day. Today I did have breakfast, and snacked on baby carrots, which is better than not eating anything until supper, and then snacking too much at night! I am going to try not to weigh myself for a week, but we will see!

I have a question on the food journal….under Net Calorie Balance……it says goal 250-750,calorie deficit per day. Mine says -1752. What does this mean? I wish there was a place where I could just go in and type what I had and the calories, but maybe it will get easier too. Sometimes when I put something in, it is different than what the box says, but, as long as it is higher on here, rather than lower, I’m fine with that! :)

Tomorrow we go to a New Years Eve party, and there will be TONS of food there. That will be a battle, I am going to try to conquer! I will let you know how I do! :)

I am also drinking water today, instead of a lot of Diet Dew. I am going to get in at least 8-8oz. glasses!

I hope that everyone has a Safe & Happy New Year!!

  Take care! Jill

New to the site

Hello everyone,

I ran across this site yesterday, and was reading a blog from “Dawn”. She truely inspired me to join this, and get started on changing my way of eating TODAY, instead of 1/1/08. I have a New Years EAT Party, or is that Eve, haha to go to Monday, and they always have TONS of food there, so I am going to try my hardest to eat healthy!!

My name is Jill, 48 yrs. young:), and from Ohio. I have been married 4 years to a wonderful man, and have 2 boys. Adam is 28, and Elijah is 17. We have an 8 yr.old Siberian Husky, Taz, and a 4 month old calico cat, Jaide(therefor my name on the blog) :)On 10/3/07  I had to put down my 18 year old cat Sampson. Hardest thing I have ever been thru.

I have been heavy all of my life until about 5 years ago, I was at my lowest of 168. Apparently, even tho I am 5′5″, around 170-175 is my ideal weight. I had people telling me that I was getting too thin! Imagine that! I had NEVER heard those words in my life! I felt absolutely wonderful at that weight as well.

I have a really hard time getting 3 meals in. Why??? I have no idea. I stay busy during the day, and don’t even think about food, but come supper time, I eat, and then have a horrible time snacking in the evening, which I know is the worst time!! I also need to start drinking more water. I am a diet dew drinker, and need to cut back on that.

I had a fall about 4 1/2 years ago, and have had numerous surgeries since then, along with other medical problems. Because of this, my exercising almost came to a complete stop. I have tried numerous equiptment, and have finally found that I can use the exercise ball. During the summer I also exercise in our pool. Would be quite chilly now tho! :)

Anyway, enough rambling on, I just think this is a great site, and really enjoy reading the blogs on here. They give you inspiration! I am hoping to meet some wonderful friends on here. Take care, Jill
